SALTA etc.

First, thanks for feedback and recommendations. Some folks didnt know to click on pix to enlarge them or to hit ´Older Post¨ to go to the other pages.
Anyway, Northern Argentina is amazing..! From Tucuman the road went up winding through a deep lush valley with a river of substantial force. Stopping to put on rain gear we were visited by a million butterflies. Many waterfalls and one car at a time bridges till the fully fogged in summit with huge horse and rustic adobe and wood buildings. Down the back side in to the sun again was a nice lake and town called >Tafi de la valle>. we ate goat and cannalonies next to a massive yellow unimog. On and on through killer roads till the mellow, adobe wide streets of Cafayate. this town had a bit of the backpackers scene and was rustic and rural and fresh.. Here the folks are more Indian then white and the accents and demeanor are totally unique and laid back.
In the A.M. set off pre-sunrise to the ampitheatres and redrocks of La Quebrada.. A canyonlands feel with jagged spires, echo canyons, ancient formations and perfect windy paved road between! Next was 7 hours of dirt road, sand pits, river crossings, rain, intense sun-heat, low fog, waterfalls, more badlands, broken down truckers, macaws, eagles, adobe, 1000 ft dropps and finaly a waist high river crossing before the reward of some of the nicest, sweetest curvy paved road in a swiss chalet-northern kuaui landscape to Salta! where the nightlife is banging and the architecture royal and the skin dark and the empanadas perfect. now to bolivia. more pix when we get wi-fi again.. ciao

Hola y'all,

What was the crash in the sand? Everyone well?

I told Tzaddi to watch out for revolutions - everyone else listen too!

Josh, your descriptions are very eloquent and almost paint the picture but your photos are superb and I want more! I really love your road shots that show the vastness of Argentina 's landscape. And I like the close up biker shots too!

Muy Bueno & muchas gracias for keeping us posted!
